2. ALPHA Courses
The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It is relaxed, low-key, friendly and fun. There is a meal together, which provides the chance to get to know each other. This is followed by a series of talks, lasting 10 weeks, on topics such as 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why do I pray?', and finishes off with a discussion. Martyn and Rosemary J can provide more information about the content and form of these meetings. Our most recent course started in January 2008. If you are interested in joining an Alpha Course, or know of someone who might be, then please contact, or leave a message for, Elaine P or Martyn & Rosemary J via the Church Office (Kn. 652251).

5. Civic Service - Sun 5th October
The Chairman of Cheshire County Council, Councillor Stephen Wilkinson, invites all to attend this Civic Service, which will take place at Knutsford Methodist Church, starting at 3.00pm. The preacher will be Rev Dr Keith Davies, Chairman of the District. It will be followed by light refreshments in the church hall.
It seemed appropriate to hold the Civic Service on the same day as the Harvest Festival as Steve's theme, for his year as chairman, is to promote and support agriculture and the rural economy in Cheshire. The Service will give us all the opportunity to give thanks to God for not only the farmers that produce our food but for all those involved in the food industry and all things rural, including the beautiful environment in which we live.
