God has been my friend since before I can remember. I was taken to Church and Sunday School and went to a Church School where I heard many Bible stories and grew to love Jesus. As a teenager and student I was impressed by the lives of several friends who stood out from everyone else because they reflected the love of God and lived their whole life for Jesus. I wanted to be more like them, and became hungry and thirsty to move on in my relationship with God. In my early twenties I moved to Warrington and worshipped at Holy Trinity Church. I experienced tremendous love from the people there, and for the first time in my life I belonged to a Church with a prayer meeting, Bible study group and Bible-based preaching. I grew in understanding and in love for God and in relationship with Him. I was also learning about spiritual gifts, and was particularly learning to listen to God's voice. We moved to Knutsford Methodist Church when I was in my early thirties. We were just settling in, Jason was two and Nathan was a small baby, when my whole world, especially my spiritual world, was turned upside down. I experienced strong Satanic attack which left me in deep spiritual pain, and spiritually damaged. I feel that God's care for me during and after that time, leading to healing and renewal, powerfully shows the love and care of God - and I want to share that as the main part of my testimony. God was always with me. The closer and stronger evil came, the closer God came. As long as I held on to Him (and I clung on to Him), He constantly reassured me of His love and care, that I was His child, that I was clean, that Satan could not separate me from Him - all the things that I needed to hear. God also used His people to show His love. When things were at their worst Graham, the minister then, and a handful of people from church listened to me, prayed for me and reflected God's love in their care for me. God also gave me specific guidance to receive the help I needed. As the attack lessened and life settled down, I realised I needed help because I was in terrible spiritual pain, which I was unable to deal with on my own, and it was getting worse rather than better. I asked God to show me the right person to help, and he clearly told me to go to David, a man I trusted, but whom I knew little about except that he had a strong faith, belonged to a traditional Methodist Church, and was a good listener. He listened to my story, then laid hands on me and prayed, taking me rather by surprise as he prayed for me in tongues. As he prayed I had the most amazing experience of God's presence and healing, like electricity right through my body. The pain lifted immediately, and I have never felt it since. I was then able to get on with my life and put what had happened behind me. I knew that I was still damaged, but I thought this was fairly normal following a traumatic experience, seeing it as something I would have to live with. However, God had other ideas. He brought Paul as minister to KMC, with his gifts of healing, listening and a deliverance ministry, which gives him understanding of the Satanic, and spiritual authority in these areas. As he has prayed with me, God has completely healed the damaged areas of my life. God has restored me to wholeness, and has overcome evil to bring about good. I have learned many things. The main one is that even if our world is turned upside down and God seems to be doing nothing, He still totally loves and cares for us, and we can be sure that the final victory will be His.
