This is the most recent Bible Study Group to be established and, as such, can be said to be still evolving. We meet at 8.00pm, on the first and third Thursdays of each month, at the home of Turid and Andrew.
We currently have a core membership of about 14 but attendance varies as we all have so many commitments - so, new members or enquirers would be made very welcome and would soon feel at home. |

Bible "Study" may be a misnomer as we spend so much of our time helpless with laughter. Well God does want us to have fun, doesn't He? The leader's main responsibility, then, is to keep bringing us back to the passage for consideration that night. As this is such an onerous job, it has been shared around the membership (all willing volunteers!).
We have followed published notes on areas in the Christian life, such as sharing our faith, or we have used the Minister's notes on a particular series of sermons. We study selected sections of the bible, often using Paul's notes to encourage our own thoughts - which frequently leads to 'lively' discussion. We normally open in prayer, asking God to reveal Himself to each of us - and He does! It's wonderful as we share opinions and experiences; God is with us and speaks to each one. The fellowship we enjoy builds up both us and our faith. It is comforting to know that we are not alone - that each one of us has problems, worries and struggles in coming to terms with the person Jesus wants us to be.
We end the 'formal' part of the evening with prayer - sharing prayer requests for those we know. It's great to know that others will be praying with you for those concerns until the next meeting. Of course, in and around all of this study and discussion we get to know each other over a cup of tea.
