ONE OUT OF ONE DIES

People of every generation have been fascinated, appalled and bewildered by death. Christians, however, should be able to approach death with confidence. Ever since that first Easter Day, when Jesus was raised from the dead, we have the demonstration that death is not the end.

In the Middle Ages, many people tried to sail around the southern tip of Africa to reach India. Every attempt to round the cape failed. This route became known as the Cape of Storms. Eventually Vasco da Gama successfully sailed around the southern tip of Africa and reached the East. He sailed back home triumphant, finally proving that it was possible to reach India via this treacherous route. The very name of the cape was changed, to be known thenceforth as the Cape of Good Hope. Symbolic picture of the Risen Jesus Christ

The question of life after death is like that. Until Jesus died and rose again, death was likened to the Cape of Storms; nobody knew what lay beyond, for nobody had ever returned. Now we do know, and the resurrection of Jesus has turned death into a 'Cape of Good Hope' for all who trust in Him. Alleluia!
